Finally getting "broadband". DirecWay is the only option I have (cable, dsl not available here). The modem will be installed on my main rig on one side of the house and the signal will have to travel through 2 brick walls to reach the other side of the house. Im sure I will need some sort of signal booster to get a good signal on the other side of the house. Any one using signal booster with sattelite broadband? What brand of router works best with satellite broadband?
As you can tell Im a "wet behind the ears" noob with this networking stuff so any help with appreciated.
They actually recomend not using a router with Direcway since the modem that they give you is actually a 1 port router. Rather what they recommend using to network your broadband connection is a switch. I just set myself up with Direcway 3 weeks ago have have been working the bugs out since. I havent used a booster, but the you shouldnt need one if you are wiring less than 150ft. is what the installer told me.

what kind of bugs are you having to work out.
I will be within the 150' but the signal will have to go through 2 brick walls. So, what I thought about was having the installer install 2 modems (for an extra fee of course) - one modem in one side of the house and a 2nd modem in the other side of the house.
