hmm I wonder what if u tore apart an old hairdryer, and used that , those small fans pump out alot of air...

but are the lives that long working constantly?

Those fans not only punp out a lot of air but they also pump out alot of decibals :p

I figured that's more to do with the plastic housing and the vibriations, i'm sure it would be quieter if it it was bolted to a metal case :P, and u don't have to run it off the full 110 volts..

At full speed they only last a few hundred hours of use. Delta's and others are designed to last 10,000 hours+

Yeah but a hair dryer is a lot quieter than a Delta.:)
