Im really mad at myself. I accidentally broke on of the fan blades off my brand new crystal orb cooler. I dont really have any money to spend on another one, so I figured I would try to put a socket 7 cooler on it. I have seen you guys do this before on here, but im not really clear on how to do so. I tried some rubber bands. How does it look so far? and suggestions or ideas? I dont overclock it, and it ran pretty cool with the orb on it (105F under load)

I don't know if it will hold tight enough. But i have never tried using rubberbands to hold down a heatsink either.

Ok here is method #2. I found a pretty shallow heat sink that would not hit the PCI slots or anything else, and I found a steel clip off of an older video card to fasten it on with instead. Seems to look ok to me. Do you think its worthy?

As long as you aren't bending any pieces on the card, and its making good contact (which it looks like it is) method 2 looks like a very good solution. Do the temps look ok, or have you tried it yet?

will that metal clip cause any grounding issues with the card???
