I just bought a Sapphire XT for 458 shipped. Im guessing the Asus is supposed to be a mis marked PE? or what?
Given your AGP mainboard I'm guessing you were looking at the AX 800XT. This is in fact the Platinum Edition card.

The other two AGP cards are labeled "Pro" and have the chipset with the same name from Ati.

If you found it at a local store, then look on the box. It should say.
If not, get the model or part number, go to asus's website, and check there. If it's not there, call asus and ask them.
Thats what I did before I bought my xt-pe which newegg labeled just a xt.
I also got mine for 480 about a month ago. That price does seem high.
Microcenter is selling a x800xt for 400.....which might oc to xt-pe speeds at $150 less :)
EDIT: ROFL, here is the one I bought

I love how newegg jacks up their prices :)

Most likey no, probly a PE reject.

You're mistaken, check my post about the card above. Asus does not clearly label the PE as such, but in fact they carry only two Pro flavors and one PE in AGP format, nothing else.

i think that too because in their site there is only 3 x800 in agp,, 2 pro's and 1 xt-pe.
so i might try ordering online.
Well it's kind of weird though because NCIX.com states under the Asus X800XT that they do not claim that this card will run at Platinum Edition speeds.

*Look under the model name that's on the page...
But from the couple of posts on that page, some ppl seem to be recieving the Platinum Editions like with the speeds 520/560.
Also I have the actual card in my system right here and it's a PE with the appropriate detection and speeds. Asus knows best. ;)
