View Full Version : My watercooled beast
A few pics of the system together. Unfortantly I haven't cleaned up since installing the Powerstream 600. Looked nice with the original power supply.
Anyway here she is. Should look somewhat familiar.

Nice, it looks like nikshub's setup but nik's setup is nice so yours is nice too. Very clean. And I love that case :D

Everything looks great, I personaly don't like that tubbing and that res, a t-line would've been better. Thats my opinion, but everything else is great especially the G4 :attn:

I think Nikhsub's in trouble ;) I like yours more aesthetically, but nikhsubs wins in the performance area...
Great Job! I like both, i'm really torn between the cube or a lian li pc-v2100.
Tough decisions. :)

The tubing I was concerned about collapsing after talking to nikshub1. I used the same Tygon tubing on his recommendation, in which he later found out was so soft the pumps could draw enough suction to pull the hose in on itself. So as a safety precaution I just wrapped it all in Coolsleeves. I agree though I think appearance wise it looks much "cooler" without the sleeve junk.
The res I like having. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference and taste but makes filling my system so much easier. Who can't love a G4? :D

Basically our hardware is nearly identical other then he's running a 3.6 vs my 3.4 but I get the advantage in the video card arena. Somewhat funny we both had Max3's and then both purchased 875P-T's. Purely conecidence but I guess great minds think a like LOL.

Great looking setup!
Now the ever important question...how in the heck did you get that sweet blue color for your fluid? I like having color in the fluid simply because it makes tracing leaks down that much easier and if I am going to have color, it might as well look good.

The watercolor was a bit of trail and error but here's what worked. I purchased a half gallon of Engine Ice (smallest size I could locate. I also purchased a gallon of distilled water and some Wildfire Deep Blue UV die. I mixed 20% premixed/dilutted into the 1 gallon of distilled water and added 1 drop at a time of the UV die until I got the desired blue I wanted.
To go a step further and get a little glow from it you can add 1 cap full of Rit Ultra White to the resivior. I only have CC lights so not much to be seen but if/when I add a UV light it will really make a difference.

Directron. I only use them for the front and top as those are the ones that either get stuff dropped in them or are sucking in dog hair or whatever. The rears just use the typical black wire fan grills. They aren't nearly as restrictive as they look and do a good job at catching a lot of the stuff that would normally go by with a convential grill.
You can get them here. http://www.directron.com/fangrill120bb.html I would probably do black instead of silver if I had it to do over again. Oh well.

Hmm... that tubing looks VERY flexible (that chipset to vid card bend in a bitch, i have the same bend in my system with normal tygon and it tend to kink a little) what kind of tubing is it, and where did you get it.

It's Tygon R-1000 from McMasters. It's part
5894K21 (http://www.mcmaster.com/asp/enter.asp?partnum=5894K21&pagenum=86) if you want to order it from them. Not cheap stuff but does have a great bend radius. I had no issues with the CPU to NB or the NB to GPU.

I'm not too big on Bayreses, but the outside and inside look pretty sweet. Good work.

The power wires look a little out of control imo. A sleeved octopus is just as ugly as a bare one

Your not kidding. Believe me it was clean and neat with the old PSU. However OCZ decided to screw me and put the wire harness out the opposite side to the last PSU making my pump placement wrong and the location in which I had all the wires cleaned up before. I'll come up with something for this one but it woln't be easy considering their configuration or ever as nice as the last one.
On request of someone else here's a couple of different angles.

Notice the spot for a second PSU above Mobo. :)

its also alot easier to do when you have the 1/8" thick walled tubing (beefy!)

Nice work. I really like the colour of the tubing. I want to get mine to look blue - as of yet it's green but looks blue under red light.
