View Full Version : Installing winXP please help
hi guys i just got winXP pro and was wondering should i upgrade from windows 2000 or do i do a clean install? because if it is anything like windows 2000 it has to be a clean install...thanks in advance :)
What Version? RC1? 2?
I would just upgrade and wait to do the fresh install once the final version comes out.
But, if you buy the upgrade version in the future, you will need to reload win2k for it to work, because I wouldn't recommend doing an upgrade from a beta release of XP to the final XP product...

Yeah, just do an upgrade for now. Put off the big surgery off until you get the released product...
Don't get me wrong you can do an upgrade both times, but I would expect some file artifacts remaining after the upgrade from RC2 to Final...And I couldn't see doing a fresh install twice. (One now, and one when the released version comes out ).
