 not sure installed my PC in a new case also my WC setup. its been running fine for 8 hours. work up at 3AM and well i checked alll was fine. CPU temp of 42C case temp of 32C which was is about 4C warmer then my last case WV setup (due to case and WC setup).
Now I wake up and I have on each monitor lines going down!!!
i have 4 bars, if you look at the monitor is looks like this.
3 inches fine normal screen, then first bar, bar is 1pixel with black line 4 green lines 2 black 4 green 2 black 4 green 2 black 4 green and between each line 1 line of normal screen (line are from top to bottom), then 3 inches normal screen, then one of the described bars again, i have 4 bars on on monitor and the continue to my other monitor (accross whole desktop).
above my mouse pointer i have 3 green mini bars (their top to bottum length is about 9 pixels), when i move the mouse the mini bar follows the mouse around, when i open menues etc more bars appear and issapear.
totally broken ?
From the description it sounds like a problem with the VRAM. Usually rebooting will fix it, if not the RAM may be fried somehow. I'd check over the card for any signs of damage from leaks since you just moved over the WC setup.

well I had the resorvoir open and after a pump switch on I had a happy spray onto the graphics card (pump res is right underneath it) but odd thing is that it was only a small spary and nothing happened. then i dried it left it switch on PC and computer was fine for 4 hours... and now this...
ffs. temps are fine my thought was with the memory was well. gotta get something cheap and cheerful now :( no money cause I spend it on case
say all I play is Counter Strike (yes all I play) so a radeon 9200 will do wont it to get 100FPS at high resolution :) (ok will be enough just wondering
or an FX5200?? :bang head

my 9800 pro broke the same day World of Warcraft came out and I understandably freaked out. picked up a crappy NVidia MX440 from best buy for 70 bucks and am getting a 6800 Ultra next week, thank god. I dont know how long i can stand this performance.

well see I only play counter strike. I did finish HL2 and farcry and doom3 but seriously only hl2 i enjoed as much as counter strike, source sucks etc.
I play cs prof. and i do enjoy it, just gonna get a PS3 anyway I am sick and tired of this expensive hardware. PC is for work and counter strike for me.
so 9200 is good enough

"good enough" isn't in my vocabulary.

It seems to me if you used air cooling, you wouldnt have this problem. Dont ditch pc's, just be more careful or dont use watercooling. And for the price, I think a 9550 would be the best choice, or a used mx440. My MX440se runs hl2 at 42fps, but overclocked i get well into the 60's.(1024 max)

If you're going to run something at 1024, might as well get an Xbox and be happy with that. 1280 is absolute minimum for my taste, especially FPS games like CS.

really? i run all my games at 1024, but i throw on the extra goodies, like 4x AA and 8x AF, with everything on high, thats how i am running css and i dont drop past 50fps. its great. 1280 it tends to drop too low on fps.

OK. yesterday i didnt use my system. today I got rid of WC installed air cooling for my CPU again. my friend got his old gpu cooler and i installed it on my broken 9800Pro.
started and still had these issues as described above but it was not so bad so i could use my comp today.
i then played with powerstrip and underclocked my card heavily... that made things worse. i went up worse... down worse couldnt see anything on the screen any more... dam
restarted.....
IT WORKS!!!!!!!! i run 3dmark03 several times and looped it for 20 minutes... nothing works perfectly???!!!!
help.. why?
That IS weird! Mabey some water got under a chip or something and with the heat from the overclocking evaporated??? I'm as lost as you are....
Whatever it was, you've got some awesome luck or something :D
