dvd burner wont respond to dvd+rw disk

When i put a brand new dvd+rw disk in the burner and go to My Computer and try to look at the burner drive i get the "not responding" in my computer. This is strange because ive burned on these dvd+rw disks before without problems, but bam... now it doesnt work. I cant burn in nero with the rw disk but cd-r and dvd-r both work fine. Strange?

Any ideas on what it could be?
