1st post guys, lemme know if this is off-topic ok?
I am having a _terrible_ ime running Tribes 2 on -- get this -- a voodoo BANSHEE & celery 366a @ 545-600 (depending on whether i feel like risking the peltier in this humidity). Amazingly, this set up has gotten me through the ages, running even the vaunted Max Payne (admittedly not pretty) with a little help from our friend PowerStrip. But T2 it just can't hack. Even running @ 640x480 with most of the options turned all the way down, it chokes when there are more than 8 armors on screen. ;_; I think it has something to do with the banshee not really enjoying OGL -- I tried editing the cs file to allow d3d but that doesn't really help tho...
SO: New question is, what should I buy!? I'm keeping my Abit BP6 if at all possible. I'm considering a cel2 900 and a powerleap neo, and a prophet 4500 card. Then I wanna tweak those mothers. But, before I plunk down $200 I thought I'd ask aruond a bit. One thing to note is that, on powerleap's compat page, which is also anecdotal, no chips over ~950 are listed. Advice? Comments? Flames had better be funny! -.-
[editedit]: wtf!? i only clicked once i swear -.- soryy bout the dbl-post!
