windows 2000 locked during sp2 install-

i was installing win2000 sp2 when the system locked(2nd time i tried this), now its telling me that svchost.exe "generated errors" and ie dosent work. is ther a system restore function? would appreceate any help.

Try downlosding sp1 then sp2. I heard that with some pc's thats the way to go.
I did it myself.
Also after sp1 reboot then do sp2.

the thing is thought that it wont access the internet now.

Do you have cable or 56k or dsl?

Try going to safe mode with network options and connect that way.

tried it, didnt work.
what i ended up doing was moving my hdd to my server and copying over the c:\winnt directory. it kinda works now so now i just put sp1 on and im installing sp2. :) wish me luck.

i had this happen once when installing sp1. my pci was at 41 mhz and windows died. had to completely reinstall.

heres one way to look at it: for most people a server is a statis symbole, or just a place to store files with out cluttering up your own hard drive, or just a fun project :D
