Untill today I could not pass 1.85vcore because my board doesn't let me but with the mod I am now at 1.91 with a stable 1.61 system, I havn't tried anything higher yet, I am going to burn it in at this speed till tomorrow morning and then see what comes along. I hope to get 1.7 although I hear it's hard with only air cooling. My SETI max temps are only at 38C now but it's about 69F in the room which might be a little low. We'll see.... (By the way with 1.85 max I could hit was 1.56, anything above it would crash on max load, even after a week of burning)

humm, just noticed somthign wierd, my mobo temps are higher than the PSU??? lol, that never happen to me before, used to be 20 vs 27 now it's 21 vs 20?? Wierd I guess the mobo isn't linearly realated to abmiet or maybe the therm is in a wierd place.

my mod obviously went well since I am not crying, I decided to never do this mod again because it was really hard, not to mention I did it without taking out anything off the baord but the side cover, didn't even take the top off, didn't have a mag. glass and used a 2.99 solder, I should have bought a micro tip one but oh well. I just booted up at 1627 on my second try with 1.97volts (13x125- not trying to max FSB till I find my max but i know I can hit 154mhz)

going to reboot now and try 13x128=1664 with the same voltage. brb...

Update:

Damn I hate my chip, I know I should be thankfull but after all the work with the mod and everthing it won't get where I want it to, you see I can boot into windows with 1.65 and fine with SETI but fails BURN6 which is my burning program which I would like it to pass. The voltage is at 2.08 right now, and it is only at 1644. Going to start 'burn6' to see if it holds, if not I'll have to stop using it. Anyways, thanx for all the support

ok, I was cursed, I can hit 160FSB with my CAS Latency=2.5 crucial ram but my chip can't pass use it at high speeds, for example I can sue 10x160=1600 but not 10.5x150=1607, yet I can use 11x148=1630...

What's this? Bahh, I want a better chip :( Someone give me a palomino..:( :(

I don't know, 11x148=1630 looks pretty good. I know you want
more though. Have you tried 2.1? That's the most I could get
out of my KT7A without the screen going blank.

only some people have got 1.7+ and that either peltier or vaporchill

what are your temps at 2.08?

I know this was directed for train, but when I had my 1.2@1.533,
my temps were 30c-33c idle. That was using vcool though.
That's why I tried to get past the 2.1 volt kill switch. Trying to
solder pin 10, I messed up and the board is gone. But that's the
reason I was trying to get over 2.1 vcore, because I just knew
I could get passed 1.533. But ol'well, next time I will be more
carefull!

aight, after a night of burning I will try again but to answer the temps, I don't know yet because it was very cold in the room last night, it was 69F which is 20.5C but my temps were 45C max loud. I'll tell ya how it does when temps go up outside, It used to do 44C when it was 80C outside but that was with 1.85 not 2.08v.

Here is my goal:
As I've realized this sys won't post 1.65 or even reach there, (has nothing to do with cooling, just a bad chip(I know people that went to 1.63 without changing the voltage at all on first time, with worst temps, yet I couldn't hit 1.56 with my good temps), I will try to burn as much as I can so I can run it at 10.5x156, that's my max fsb yet it won't boot up.

It boots at
10 x156=1560 and
12 x137=1644 but not at
10.5x156=1638.

See the prob, it seems like the high FSB but not really because the cpu can take it, it's wierd.
