Celeron 700(not overclocked)
Abit BE6-II rev 1.2 with most recent bios
300watt Power supply
Maxtor 20gig ATA66 7200rpm
512megs Crucial PC100
Hercules Prophet 4500 (Kryo II) using drivers on disk and newest drivers from PowerVr.
Windows 98SE

Tried this card on this motherboard and on my BX133-RAID mb and it didn't work on either while my Geforce 2 GTS Pro card works on both perfectly. Installed the card after a clean install of windows. 2D works perfectly but any games I try to play or when trying to run dxdiag I have problems. Actually dxdiag works fine on the directdraw test but when I run the direct3d test is when I have troubles. It runs the software test fine but when it tries to run the hardware test the images freezes. I can still move my mouse pointer but I can't do anything and can't see anything other then the frozen image. No IRQ sharing or anything like that going on. The hercules site says the card really needs an AGP 2.0 compliant port to work and if the BE6-II is anything like the BX133- Raid mb then the AGP port is only 1.0. But the Geforce card I have says it needs a 2.0 also but it works perfectly. Just wondering if anyone perhaps has managed to get the KryoII working with those 2 motherboards or with an AGP 1.0 port.

Thanx.

Well this is frustrating. Was reading on Hardforums and someone was having a problem with the Kyro II card and they mentioned they had 512megs of RAM. Someone suggested taking out anything over 256 megs because on rare occassions the Kyro II's didn't work with more then 256. I took out one stick of ram and dropped it down to 256 and now my card works. Happy the card works but ticked to think I have to lower my system to do it. Like dropping down to a 486 just to get things to work.

Heh. Yeah it's probably more then I'll ever need but when I use to buy a stick of 64 PC100 at 100bucks with a 30 dollar rebate and think I was getting a deal, it's hard to pass up 40bucks and free shipping for 256 at Crucial.

Just got a reply back from Hercules about the RAM problem and they say they are aware and it's their top priority to fix but can't reproduce since it doesn't happen in all systems. Shame I've already asked for an RMA for the card and already bought another Geforce 2 GTS Pro.
