Would a 3DLabs Wildcat Realizm 800(cost $2800) perform as well as the SLI setup from Nvidia for gaming? I know Wildcats aren't "gaming" cards but AFAIK they still run the same DirectDraw3D and OpenGL calls any other card does. The Wildcat has two GPU's built into the board, but they are typically used (if I'm not mistaken) for observing completely different images on two different monitors rather than being used in tandem on the same thing for one monitor.

nVidia's SLI, even with Quadros will probly be cheaper than the Wildcard. Not the mention the fact that the Wildcard will probly be slower and has poor driver support since nV has the best in the industry

nV the best driver support in the industry? Maybe so but I was unaware it was anything worth bragging about. The two manufacturers don't give much in the way of comparable specifications of the two cards. The Wildcat has a 512 bit interface to the RAM vs. 256 bit for the Nvidia, but might this be because there are 2 GPU's? The Geforce 6 gets a better refresh rate at 2048 by 1536 resolution. The Wildcat goes up to 3840 by 2400.

Excuse me, but who cares about max resolutions? The 512-bit mem interface is just what you said, a 256-bit for each gpu. I wouldn't buy that realizm card, unless I was given it for very cheap.

I dont think it would perform well at all, it isnt designed to run real-time 3d stuffs like games.

It’s a work-station card. This is like comparing a fork-lift and a NASCAR.
