Okay, im gonna give up on my system soon. I have an AMD1gig@1.2gigs on an A7V133 mobo with 2 nics, sblive, v7700 Geforce2GTS, 12x Sony DVD, and Maxtor 20gb Hardrive. I was using Smart Doctor and it told me that my GPU temp was at 57!!! So i said whoa, thats too high for a gpu, and i thought that would be the reason why games would crash sometimes, and 3dmark2001 would never last for more than 4 hours of looping. So I go out and buy a blorb and memory heatsinks, attach those on and boot up. I open smart doctor and it tells me that im at 55!!!! I say some profanity and then cool down. I then opened the side panel of the case and opened smart doctor again, it went down to 52!!!! Okay, i thought to myself what is the point of having a good HSF if it blows hot air on the gpu? right? Well i first ran 3dmark2001 for 10 minutes, then 2 hours, then when i ran it again it ran for about 10 minutes before locking up!!!! I can't belive this. I seriously DONT know what to do, can anyone help?

try lapping the blorb, andmaybe the gpu if you have the balls(i dont).......also make sure youve got good contact with the thermal goop, maybe get some artic silver, or the radio shack stuff(its what i use)....cover the whole thing with it and put 4 little dabs of superglue on each corner.....

Blue Orbs are pretty darn good GPU HSF's. I have one on each of my systems. Right now my GF2 MX 400 is idle @ 25.4c and during hours of UT it never gets above 29c.
funnyperson1 has the right ides, lap the blob(it is a pain in the arse) and use A/S. I did very gently lap the GPU, but not enough to take much off. Good Luck

You might want to consider that the smart doctor is giving erroroneous readings. I have a Compunurse thermal probe attached to the top of the card, right above the GPU.

I dont think its the smart doctor, cause no one else is getting incorrect readings with it.

I agree with Da Whip,
I got a borb for my her profit 2 gts and it made a big difference, I can't tell temps on it but I'm able to overclock it to around 425-445. but I drop it back down as soon as I'm done playin IGI

I also have duel 60mm card blowers "pushin 60cfm"
and the 80mm cyclone under my card pushin 32 cfm out the of the case. so I guess my card doesn't heat up to much.

I want to get the dig doc for my system but I don't have 65 to spend right now:(

Okay, here is another problem....I ran 3dmark2k1 looping for 5 hours with no problem. i stopped it and left comp alone for like 2-3 hours. I went back and started 3dmark2k1 up again, set it to loop, started but the comp lockedup after 5 seconds into benchmark!!!!! I did the same thing next day, i looped for 2 hours stopped it, left comp alone after that for 2-3 hours, came back started loop and AGAIN benchmarked for 5 seconds before locking up...WHATS UP WITH THAT??? Im thinking its windows 2000 cause i added the geforce2gts after it was installed...any other solutions?

how is your system on other programs....ie games, surfing, and things?
I don't like the benchmark programs much, as long as I have crip clean graphics, and my temps don't go over 36C after gamein all day I'm happy.

Well, all 2d applications dont freeze, touch wood, but i play counterstrike and i haven't checked that out yet. What do you have in mind.
