SATA raid + a spare HD setup Problems!

I have 2 raptors in raid and a 300gig maxtor SATA drive I just added in. The problem is the bios and raid controller setup shows the maxtor but windows wont acknowledge it exists. Not even in disk management or hardware manager. What gives? arent they two seperate controllers?
this is on a Gigabyte NF3 K8NSNXP-939. The raptors are on the controller in the middle of the board and the maxtor is on the lower one.

If you are trying to install, are you hitting F6 and supplying the RAID/SCSI/Disk controller drivers from floppy disk. If not, you will need to hit F6 during the initial part of setup and provide drivers later in the install, usually for both controllers.
