I just installed Win2K Professional Edition on my computer. And now when I try to shutdown my computer it takes a realllly long time. With my Old Win 98 1st edition, the shutdown was almost instantaneous. Now, it just sits there with the faded screen like it's going to shut down. If I click on the desktop, Everything becomes bright again. The computer shutsdown sometimes after 5 - 10 minutes. I don't know what's wrong. HELP!!

Thats just Windows 2000 shutting down certian processes. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Yeah, its annoying, but not really detrimental. You could speed up the process by shutting down everything that is running that dosn't need to be (icq, IE, etc). And all non-essential services.

a lot of this depends on your network settings also.

it more or less says "good bye" to everyone on your system.....but first it checks to see IF there's anyone on your system.....saves network configurations.........yadda yadda yadda...... It's perfectly normal tho.

1. I'm not on a network
2. My ethernet card is currently disabled
