I just got my water cooling set up the other day... I want more out of it. I was thinking about using something like this water cooler from walmart (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=2385883#long_descr) (it doesnt have to be that exact one) I know its hard to say, but just in general, how much work would be involved? what would have to be done? and lastly would it be worth the effort? I know I could come up with my own chiller but i think it would be easier to use something exisiting and slightly mod it.

I don't think its made to be chilling water 24/7, I wouldn't trust it to be working for a long time.
You need to get one of those water fountains, the large metal ones.
They have a small water chilling unit and they are industrial made so their MTBF is pretty long.
There is a guide on the www.overclockers.com.

yeah after thinking about it, i realised that the machine isnt designed to cool water thats already hot so i dont think it would help much. I'll look into the water fountain thing though, thanks

I'm finishing up my kit using a water fountain, will post pics when it's done.
Idea was good at first, but computer produces tons of heat, while water in such thing gets only a bit of energy. That's why it's easy to chill. If you want to boost your water rig, you can try to use water chiller or bong. Personally I don't like water chillers due to high power consumption and poor efficiency (by efficency I mean power used to result ratio). On the other hand, bong systems seem to become more and more common. They are pretty interesting, but require some experience or at least knowledge and time spent on research.

a bong was my first watercooling project since I was too poor to afford a radiator and already had most of the parts lying around. I built a bucket cooler since and have the temps listed in my profile.
Oh yeah, a bong would be GREAT for cooling a bunch (yes, a bunch) of tecs if you felt like dropping $5-20 more a month on power bills

hmm i may check out bong cooling.... getting everything tofit in my case is PITA .... if i can ditch the radiator that would be great... i have a 30 gallon fish tank just begging to be used as a resivoir
Banshee, you got any pics of that bucket cooling setup
There was a thread or a few with these pics. That bong looks really nice, but chance to put it in case are close to none.
Eventually you could try to put that huge tube in case and drill a hole in top... And unless you have really huge case or you give it much airflow, it won't be that great
