name = pixel-pipe/vertex-pipe (GPU clock / Mem clock)

6800ee = 16/6 (450/1200)
6800u = 16/6 (400/1100)
6800gt = 16/6 (350/1000)
6800nu = 12/5 (325/700)
6800le = 8/5 (325/700)

So basically i can overclock my 6800u an get the same perfomance as an 6800u-ee. Any suggestions on the best way to do this.

Theoritically its possible. However I lost my crystal ball when I was 6 :(. Other than pure logistics I cant say yes or no.

Man i've seen some of your posts i know you can do better than that :D

Not really sure what you are looking for:D Sure granted alot of Ultras can do UE without a problem, I have no way of knowing if *yours* will.

I personally give it a 50:50 shot. Most likely you wont make 450 on the core initialy <since EE use 1.5v vs. Ultras 1.4v> , however you probly will get 1200 on the RAM.

what about eVGA's Limited Edition? where in the line up does that fall?
i know it has the 1.6 ns ram, but what about it's core?

That would be the Ultra 2nd edition. However that deal is long gone, but ill list the specs anyway

eVGA 6800U LE (2nd edition) (325/1100)

i got mine 2nd hand, and it's a beast. i never knew what the stock clock was. It's crankin' now though.

thanks. I'm here to stay too buddy. :D As you can see I'm an overclocking noob. Now about that 1.5v vs 1.4v. isn't that tweakable? And theoretically speaking what would be the best way to oc my ultra?

Yes it is tweekable via BIOS flash, however you should only use what your cooling allows. 1.5v is too hot for stock ultra cooling. You really need watercooling for that.

Its onyl twaekable if you solder a variable resistor to the card...we call that a volt mod. Soon young Jedi, you will know volt mods. :p

*edit* You can alter volts with bios flash?

Not true. Thats only for *your* archeic x800.:D We have the option to change the vcore on the fly by a single BIOS tweek up to 1.7v I belive. Us nVidiots are more sophisticated than you blasphemers!:D

Hmmmm, velly intelesting. I will look more into this when i get my 2 6800GTs for some SLI goodness!!! :santa2:

Yep. I planned on flashing mine to 1.4v but my god damn VGA silencer is DOA:mad: Gonna have to push **** back ANOTHER 2 weeks :-/

Sent, if its bios tweakable, then someone can engineer a software program to change it in Windows???

Probably since 6800s change the vcore from 2D to 3D without issue. 2D volts are 1.2v and are throttled to stock. At post volts are 1.1. Alot of people had issues "flashing" to ultra becuase their cards were unable to POST at 400mhz with 1.1v thus killing their card :(

6800GT:
POST = 1.1 ---> Desktop/Windows= 1.2 ----> Games = 1.3 /1.4v depending on model

Here is a simple volt mod for either a "pencil" or a resistor. Yes, I said pencil....be very careful though....*disclaimer* Do this at your own risk!!

did you flash or v-mod your 6800gt to get it to 410?

Only works on the ultra and why bother when your voltage options via BIOS are pratically unlimited

Thread title is about difference between Ultra & EE. So I thought it would fit. Are you gonna give me a spanking now?

excuse my noobness but exactly what is it to "pencil"?

LOL.... nah I wont be that cruel:D

Just as it sounds. Making a dark line of graphite with a pencil to increase resistence to a circuit thus increasing voltage.

You probably shouldn't do this until some of your "noobness" has wore off. :p

But it means to run the tip of the pencil back and forth until you have traced a pencil mark on the card just like the red "u" in the pic below....

Hanging around you guys I think my noobness is going to wear off quite quickly. So what's so dangerous about making the "U" with the pencil it sounds like a simple procedure.

Been working 2 jobs since I joined. So I could enjoy dual monitors, overclocked 3200+, and ultras with tweaked bios. Bout to throw some finishing touches on this build that i'm working on, now that i'm only working 1 job right now. :attn:
