Hello,

I have a 2.6C, i probably hit the steal reinforced wall(but i just want to make sure). currently I have my 2.6C around 3.2 ghz (im that area for most of the time) but when i do go above or near 250 FSB it runs fine, but it fails prime 95, and the super PI 8meg. My temps with a vantec are around 28C idle and 36C full load. My ram has no problem goin up 2 241FSB 1:1 before crapping out (the ironic thing is that my ram is crappy crucial(non-ballistix). and for around 3.2 i need about 1.625 - 1.650. and i have a fortron 350watt psu (look at sig for other parts). my case air circulation is prety good with a case temp of about 28C at most.

Thanks for any help :)

same problem with my 2.4c and abit ic7 mobo. if you read around, almost all fsb "walls" are due to the ram. it might not mean that you have to pick up better ram, but just different ram.

i just picked up newer ram and a psu recently and since then, there've been no signs of that wall anymore. new stuff is in my sig.

also, make sure you got all the basic settings of the bios down.

Regarding 3dMark you will get better help in the 3dmark section, just state what tweaks etc you have already done, and a compare link of your score.

Many many 2.6c's hit a wall @ 3.2Ghz, so that could also be your 'problem' Keep that in mind before you go out and buy new ram.

The 2.6C just don't seem to do much more than 250 FSB on average. I think maybe you are at the limit.

I don't claim to know much about 3Dmark2001, but here is my thread when I was trying for 20k with a 9700 Pro a while back. Maybe some of what I went through might help you. If you scroll down a few posts from the bottom, I summarize everything that I did.
