I have used all the big names and was very happy with Norton Anti Virus. But the last time I upgraded to 2003 it slow my system way down. So I tried AVG and various other programs. I finally landed on NOD32 by ESET. It seems to be less of a resource hog than most and I have been virus free for over a year now. They update their virus definitions everyday and the program can be set to update daily automatically. They have a free version but after using it and check the web for reviews I purchased the reg version. Linky; http://www.nod32.com/home/home.htm

I avoided Norton 2004 because some people complained about it killing their system performance, but I was able to get Norton Internet Security 2005 for free with Turbotax, so I installed it on my laptop. It's been excellent, no performance hit at all that I've seen.
I've used Norton Antivirus (which comes with Internet Security) for years on systems at work and at home, and it's been very effective.

Norton does what I need and it isn't too expensive. Check out CompUSA if you have one near you, they have rebates for it all the time.
