I have a Gigabyte GA-7dXR MB. With my cooler master i get 65C idle temp. I am wondering if the Gigabyte MB might exaggerate the temp. Anyone else on this board using this card that can report what temps they are getting? Also does anyone know if the AOC FT-12 is a good performer? I can get it for a good price.

Thanks,
Ingemar

Welcome to the Forums!

Your temp is way too high, Gigabyte motherboard temp sensors are very accurate, I tested mine against a temp probe they were exactly the same.

Post us some specs of your system so we can help you more..

Your temps donīt sound too good, get some decent heatsink.
And please give us some system specs

I just re-installed the heatsink and found out that it did not have good contact. I also installed a big case fan. However the temp is still a bit high (i think) 58C idle. My system specs are.

Aopen HQ45 case 250W PSU
GA-7dxr
1.4ghz T-bird
Coolermaster sink and fan.
256mb 266mhz DDR cas2 133mhz FSB (at the moment)
Idle 58C load 62C
Leadtek Gforce2 pro (not OCīd right now)

I think I know your problem the Coolermaster heatsinks are not good.
You need a good heatsink like a Global Win CAK38 or a Millenium Glaciator.
Here is a list of good heatsinks
Millenium Glaciator
Global Win CAK38
Thermalright SK6
Swiftech MC462A

Try one of these they really cool well particualarly the SK6 and CAK38

I prefer Thermalright SK6 over Global Win CAK38

those temps are way the hell too high. you need either a swiftech or an sk6, those are excellent. also, buy a separate thermometer just to make sure your mobo isnt wrong. also, i recommend the MSI 6380 Pro - R. I have this mobo and it works wonderful. later dude
good luck

My supplier is replacing my cooler master with an AOC HSF at no charge. Hopefully it will work better if not iīm gonna buy one of those monster coolers. I have also ordered Arctic silver2. Thanks to all for your help.
