I heard that bh-5 chips are awsome and there's always a decent selection of Kingston HyperX and Mushkin BLII for around that price. However, I've been out of the game for awhile and don't know exactly what state ram is in these days. DDR2 modules are available, but I don't think my mobo (Abit IS7-E) is compatible. I hear of these new tccd chips performing well too. I plan to overclock and I game. 1gb is what I'm upgrading too. Recommendations please. Thanks.

Well I originally bought the non-TCCD PQI PC-4000 stuff and returned it. I plan on getting the G.Skill LE version at newegg when it gets restocked.

They say that the LC series will overclock about the same as the LE, but I have also heard people getting higher overclocks on the LE. I will never push it past stock on my current system, but then I will not have to buy new memory when I upgrade to an A64.
Hope this helps!

i would say Kingston Low-Latency PC3500 (at least)... get a dual 512 pack.... they use TCCD chips, but the OLDSCHOOL sticks used BH-5 (Mine, KHX3200A/256, use BH-6 or CH-5.... the KHX3200A/256 means its a Kingston HyperX DDR Dimm at 3200... revision A... 256 MB hehe)

If you want 222 timings either go with some bh, winbond utt, or ocz gold vx (all require voltage to shine). If you don't care about timings or want a shot at 300 1:1 go with tccd . I don't know about these on p4 platforms, but they all shine on the a64 platform.
I would go with OCZ here are two you would like.

I dont think you can go wrong with either one.

My motherboard only allows voltage up too 2.8v :-/ I have heard that some ram can get to decent overclocks with voltages of 3+v. Mabey I should get some faster ram in the 3500-4000 range.

G. Skill LE's (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-231-006&depa=0)
See specs below...
I run the LC's, the LE's run tighter timings...but both tend to OC to about the same with the same timings...

 Nice. Will those get too hot without a heat spreader?

Heatspreaders are known to actually insulate the RAM unless its activly cooled. In your case its better to not have any.
TCCD will be just fine on your rig, I hope it goes well for you
