I've been folding in the background on my main rig for a couple months now, but recently I got a UPS and its software can't close Windows without me being there (to manually close the console for F@H). So I had to switch to the screensaver version and I'm not gettin a lot of work done and all the CPU cycles when I'm at the computer are being wasted (I feel guilty . . . ).
So does SETI run in a window that would close with windows (i use 98SE, btw) or is it in DOS?
you can use the command client with seti spy and driver and it will then close when windows closes. Here are the direct downloads you need Windows CLC (ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/setiathome/setiathome-3.03.i386-winnt-cmdline.exe), Seti Spy (http://pages.tca.net/roelof/setispy/SetiSpy.exe), Seti Driver (http://www.wakeassoc.com/setidriver/SETIDriver.zip) and here are the instructions (http://overclockers.ws/seti/Instr1.htm) you need to follow to get them up and running. If you would like to switch.

Here you have several options:
1.-The easiest one, in any DOS windows you open you can configuere it to close without warning. I really don't remember exactly how, but seems that in the properties of the link you can get this check box.
2.- If you are using SETI Driver, there is a small utility that allows Windows shut down procedure to close any SETI clc box open at that time. Try in this (http://www.wakeassoc.com/setidriver/) to get it.
