Internet timeouts alot w/ my router, help!

ok i bought a lynksys router the other day and i just have two computers on it mine and another, well for some reason every like 10 mins it just hangs and the net dies, i cant even do big downloads with out using getright so i can continue them after the lockup, this never happened to me when using software routing. is there anyone who could help me out???

Is that router overheating by any chance?

Are you using DHCP on the wan port? When your internet dies, restart your router and see if it picks up different IP info. DNS would be my first guess.

when the connection dies go to a dos prompt and type ping 216.115.102.80
see if it gets reply from if it dose then try ping www.yahoo.com if that dosent work then yopu have dns problems if both dont work you will need to uninstal and reinstall the tcp/ip protocol if it still dont work post back
