When is the 800xl supposed to come out? Or is it unkown right now. Also, is there a place to preorder it at $300?

for what bus, PCI-E or AGP?

The x800XL is PCIe-only. And for the record, there is no release date at this time. However, some of us believe that this card might show up sometime between February and March. There was also a pre-order on ATI's website, but I believe that it was removed yet again.

It will be worth the wait for sure. The reviews I have seen of that card so far show it too be better or equal to the x800pro for $100 less.

This is the card I get for sure when I jump to NF4.

I hear there may be an agp verson too, just not built by ati. It should be $299 without price gourging

Ya, This Review (http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews/x800xl/) shows it beats a 6800gt in many tests. It seems to OC pretty nicely too. Looks like it will be the best bang for the buck when it does come out. I can't wait. :D

the rams good but the core sucks, however ram overclock matters more since with 16 pipes they are really bandwith starved. 575MHz is close to what some x800xt get anyway. Theres a theory the cores volt starved, vmod it and we could be seeing 475MHz core clocks on average, something vitrually no 6800gt will do on the core :D

its not a theory, peeps had actualy measured the voltage of the cheaper versions effectively being downvolted.

Anyhow a dude stated the core can oc around 40mhz with stock cooling, thats pretty good for a supposedly "crippled" card if you ask me

I would enjoy it w/o and OCing... my 9500p is getting old :p

But if it does well w/ a volt mod, then this card will kick 6800gt's ass like nuttin.
