I wanna see what this baby is capable of, is there any nice-looking gamez that use the GF3 features?
Best of regards,

games, i dont think there are any yet, just use 3dmark2001 from madonion.com, use the default drivers first, then change to the 21.81 rivers from nvidia, and test again and watch the score rise. Use default settings to start with then change those i f ya want

I´m not really intrested in benchmarks. Is there no application where the advantage of having a GF3 really shows? 4000 instead of 3000 doesn´t make me very happy.
Best of regards,
Henry.

No, i wasn't listening to the advice either before I bought my geforce 3 card. The geforce 2 Ultra gets the same performance in current games.
NOTHING out, other than those demos, utilize the geforce 3's abilities. Therefore, you spent $100 more than the GF2 Ultra to get the same performance.
It took me 6 weeks of having a geforce 3 to realize this. As you se I have a Radeon card now, and an Ultra on the way. I don't just talk this stuff, I live it. If you can return the card, do so and get it 3-4 months from now when it's about $250 for a top model. If you wait too long you won't get squat in resale. I bit a $75 loss when I resold mine, but who cares -- in beats losing $150 3-4 months from now when I will want the Radeon 8500 for same price, same features as the Geforce 3, and has VIVO.

Is that true? I actually choosed between this one and a GF2 Ultra. I read a few rewievs on the PoW GF3 card and decided to spend the extra $90. I had a MX400 card before that I sold to buddy. My original thought was to stay with a ATI Rage Pro 4 Mb card until new stuff came out, but that card drove me crazy. A decent desktop card, but nothing for a 3D gamer. ATI has really good drivers though.

Dronez is the only retail game out now that uses some of the GF3's special features but its a pretty bad game.
The geforce ultra is just as fast as a geforce 3 at low resolution 16 bit games.
It does outperform the ultra at higher resolutions and 32 bit color and creams it when you add 4x antialiasing.
If your the kind of person who plays quake 3 at 640x480 16bit no AA then the geforce 3 is not worth having over a ultra.

I usually have game settings at about 1280x1024 or therearound and at as large color depth as possible. I´m sure the GF3 offers a lot higher frame rates compared to the MX400 under those circumstances, but in real life there is no difference. The GF2 MX400 can maintain decent fps even at 1280x1024 in Q3. The faboulus extra cost from the GF2 MX400 to the GF3 cannot be justified for those games.
Hopefully that´s gonna change soon. =)

Yes, at higher screen sizes, the GF3 creams everything else on framerate and colour depth.
Get 2 sets of drivers - the latest ones from the manufacturers website, and the latest Detonator 4's from nVidia. Try them both, and use the ones that suit you best................
