ok, as some of you might know, before i got my abit board, i had my hp a220n, and before that, mearley weeks before i got the hp, i had my peethree rig, before i killed the bios on that system. back to the point, i was happy with the hp, i could overclock it, so i was happy, but i couldnt oc from the bios, so i bought this abit. i took the ram, and cpu, from the hp and transplanted it into this system. ive got my divider at 3/3 200mhz, it was stable there, so i brought it up some more, and this, is where i stopped, not because i couldnt go higher, but my bandwidth started to get flaky, and to me, bandwidth is just as important as fsb, i like to find the happy medium, see what im getting at? anyways, heres a screenie i took after running prime, i let it cool down before i took the pic, it idles at 33, and climbs to 40-42 when the furnace is on!

That's pretty good for PC2700. Timings can better but good enough.

Ya know that sounds an aweful lot like Hynix. Have you checked the physical RAM chips to see what they say? If its Hynix BTD43 you have genuine PC4000 on your hands

well, as far as i now, this ram was made in the summer of 03, and they chips say infineon, i dont know much about the company, but i think ive read both good and bad about them, is ths a good company? also, cpuz says the ram is smart modular, but nvidia system utility says mushkin.. whats up with that? anyways, so far so good, heres a pic of what i mean

I beat with alittle more voltage and they will hit good timing's @ 200 fsb.

im at 205 fsb, 2.7v, 7-3-3-2.5, and all is well, think i should try for more? or just be happy with what i have?
Try for more and but all mean give it alittle more vddim so you can use tighter timing's.

ok, i found the sweet spot for this memory, i can get to 218, but i get an error, so if i take it to 216, its ok, but i like round numbers, and i dont want to max this ram out totally, im happy now. heres a pic

Have you tried loosening your timings to 3-4-4 to see where it will fully max out?

I'am glad to see your happy there I wasn't happy when my pc2100 stop just alittle bit shy of pc3200 speed but all I could ever get it to do stable was around 191fsb no matter what vddim or timing's.

in a different post i made here not too long ago, i was saying my system doesnt make heat, its invincible. well, thats because the highest fsb i saw on this thing was 181 in the bios, so 362. but thats pretty much the stock speed. now that my divider is at 3/3 and 205 fsb, the extra bandwidth sure makes some good heat eh? im impressed, right now im at 205x10.5 and just finished running prime for an hour, there was some nice heat being washed around the base of the heatsink. appologies again man! anyways heheh, im loveing this, this is definately a first for me, awsome. cant wait to get the real stuff guys, im gonna go easy on my cpu as far as voltage and raw mhz goes, and save it for some better ram, tax time is right around the corner...
