Well its that time for me to upgrade my system I am currently running a Plll 550e on a IWILL 133 pro mobo,w/256 sdram,voodoo3 vc,aureal vortex sq1500 sc, 30gb 7200rpm Diamond max HD, I plan to buy a new system soon and I would like all the input I can get to help me in my decision on what componants I will be putting together to make up my gaming system I am shooting for something in the 1.4 ghz and up range with ddr and high bus spd's nothing too fancy just reliable. Im not sure if I should go with P4 or AMD (Cost Effectiveness) and when I do choose a processor what mobois best, asus,abit,etc.... I think i am most concerned in what chipsets are the best ,also what brand types of memory stiks are best suggested so in overview :

Mobo & chipset (overclock freindly)
Brand name ddr/sdRam
Processor
and the best place to buy them!

again I plan to use this system as a pure gaming machine! so all input is greatly appreciated thanx!

To be more specific...

AMD 1.4 GHz AYHJA from overclockerz store
Epox is a good choice, from what I've heard
Overclockerz store Titan 3 (best GeForce 3 out there, apparently) or the Asus GeForce 3, if you like extras
at least 256 MB DDR-Ram, but you might as well get 512, since it's so damn cheap.
I would say the Hercules Game Theater XP sound card, or the Soundblaster Live! 5.1 or Gamer's
Pioneer 16X slot load dvd(you can now get black faced ones, too)
400 Watt power supply

Get an IBM DeskStar hard drive. These are some of the fastest IDE drives out there. You can easily get 30 megs a second off of them. Comes in handy during loading screens. Also Tyan makes some great dual proc boards. The fastest is a dual 1.2 athlon rig that suports gigs of RAM. You will need Win 2k or Linux to use both procs. For video go with the GeForce 3. If you do decide to go the dual proc route, make shure that you have at least a 400 watt power supply.
