I got a small problem.
I got a new KG7 Motherboard new 1.4Ghz cpu, Millenium Glaciator Heatsink. I had one Exhaust fan just behind the cpu and an open case. Cpu with tha setup would be stable only at 1533Mhz And temperatures would hit around 52C at full load.
So I decided to mod my case a bit. I tried ton of different fan configurations, cut ton of metal of my case to make more room.
My final set up is like this.
I have one 120 MM AC Fan from Toyo fans. Its around 80CFM that sits directly where the powersupply should be and blowing air towards the cpu. I relocated the powersupply to a different spot, and it's wide open above the fan. I have another 80MM Sunon Fan 49CFM mounted from a rail directly to the side of the heatsink pulling air away.
The case is wide open.
In the evening with this setup I can get my system stable at 1656Mhz it will run fine for hours. The idle temperature is around 44C and at max load it gets maybe 50C. Ambient temperature in the evening is around 27C or so.
Problem is during the day or the weekend when the temps hit 33C ambient (I live in california) My system gets unstable and I need to downclock it to 1600Mhz to keep it from freezing. The idle temp raises to around 48C and Load temps hit 52-53C.
This morning it was around 21C in my house and system would run at 1656Mhz and 39C idle.
So Question now is,
Can anyone think of anything i could do to keep my temps lower during high ambient temp? Any other way to lower my cpu temps?
Any and all comments apprieciated.
