How are your old CD-Rs holding up?

just wondering. i recently started pulling old stuff off my cds and storing it on the HD again. failure rate wasnt high but i noticed my memorex and maxells were troopers while some of the 'pine's and 'gigastore's gave me grief.

by 'old' in my case i'm talking burned 5-8 years ago.

TIP: for data recovery i've found CDCheck (http://www.elpros.si/CDCheck/) to be very successfull.

Ive had my moms old HP CD-R drive for a good 4 years, still running strong :). Its a little slow (not sure on the speed) but it isn't nearly as fast as my Lite-On burner, this Liteon is 1 years old.

Well, in my case I've found problems with Traxdata and Samsung media, and I've found that Kodak Infoguard's are in incredibly good shape.
