Man is that sexy! Anyone got a 1Gw PSU? Think I might need that...

This is sexier.

I will buy one of those boards one day, my current Thunder K7 is getting a little long in the tooth.

^^^^^I must have one.

stops dreaming realizes hes a student and is still trying to scrape enough money together to buy one 6800gt and a64.

If I had enough cash though I would have one of those as soon as they became available.

must say the tyan looks good because of the 2 full 16x PCI-E slots and more expansion pertential.

edit: does any one know if the abit actualy has > 32 PCi-E chanels? whats the swich for? spliting one 16x in to two 8x?

Alienware mobo is Xeons

That Tyan board, I was eyeing for a long time and found out all I could on it... but it would be like 700+ ... so instead of one part I upgraded 3 for that price.

Tyan board uses dual nforce4 chipsets, has an AMD8103 I believe, so it has SCSI controller along with SATA and IDE. I believe it technically has Dual, Dual Channel Ram, two NB along with two opterons with memory controllers

I don't think it'll be $700.

I have the equivalent K7 board, sans scsi, cost me $365.

I think I'm willing to pay up to the $500s for a board that was some variation of the one I linked... I'd expect it to definately last me 3-4, maybe 5 years, like my current one has.

Seeing as how the industry has hit an asymptote lately, that seems reasonable to me.

Any word on when either of these boards are coming out? I've been planning an A64 upgrade for sometime, even toyed with a dual opteron upgrade...still haven't did either, lol.

I'd love a dual opteron / SLI system...gaming for me, hardcore workstation for my fiance...

wow.

Damn, both very sexy boards! Why oh why does the gov insist on taking my $$$!!! :(

To pay for public goods... lots and lots of public goods, along with the salaries of the people running the government... and so on. Jeez, the apocalypse will come before a free lunch.

I still cry every so often, that I had to pass by the thought of getting than dual opteron sli tyan board ;_;

I'd like one like this when someone actually puts some of these out as a dual Opteron SLI workstation.

So far I like the specs on the Iwill DK8EW (8x8 SLI Workstation) due out in March. The DK8ES (server model) due February doesn't really have SLI support as Iwill isn't going supply the SLI bridge.

Originally posted by Stormlord on 2CPU.com in the Iwill DK8ES SLI NFORCE CK8-04 DUAL OPTERON thread
DK8EW expected late february acc. to last info.

DK8EW:
- comes with 16/2 OR 8/8 lanes on the two PCIe 16x slots
- is officially SLI capable (DK8ES unofficially aswell, if you can get a bridge - the bridges are the same as with DN800-SLI, but NOT the same as Asus A8N SLI Deluxe, different distance between slots)
- has NO onboard ATI Rage XL
- has NO IPMI connector
- has firewire chip
- has 1 GbE instead of 2
