Once upon a time, Frodo opened up his computer to take a peak inside. He noticed that the temps were very cool, so he touched his heatsink to see how hot it was...ahh...nice and cool......

Frodo is about to put the case back on, and he suddenly slips and his thumb falls into the blades of the delta fan...

AAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Suddenly blood spurts out (on the the case lckily, and he's forced to use a kleenex to hold the blood in...

Right now Frodo's left thumb is heavily bandaged, and seems to be leaking more blood.....

Seems to be getting a bit more popular to baptize your fans with your blood lately...

I wonder if Saladshooter will ever sue Delta for copywrite infringement?

Well, tonight my friend offered me three 120mm a/c fans. Medical grade (sheilded, high output/etc...). My only problem was...
...what the heck do I hook them up to??? i didn't take them, but asked him to hang on to them for me. Any suggestions, on how I could make it work? These things put out an incredible amount of air, and I shudder to think what would happen if I got any limb/ digit/ or extremity caught in one of these things.

You could just run the cords out of your case...like I do with my waterpump. :)

you guys are all nuts
i have 3 sunon 120mm high output (108cfm) each, 2 sunon 80mm high output (42.5cfm) each fans. and have just ordered 2 60mm ys tech 40.1cfm (7000rpm) fans for my cpu. (alpha p3125)

never stuck my finger in a fan yet
(knock on wood)

I have fangrills on the ext. of my case so the fiance's cat, or mine don't get inhaled into it. it would suck, and would be a mess.

hope ur fingers heal peeps.

LMAO,

Definitly one of the more humorous threads I've read at this fine forum:)

A nidec 3 blade server fan bit me once and since then, I attached chrome grills on every fan in my system and fans that are just sitting around in my workshop. (Just in case one decides to try to bite me again ;)

PS

I contemplated signing up with the name 4fingersam, but luckily I gave away my Comair/Rotron fan to a fellow overclocker.

It's not authentic until you have bloodstains inside the case!

There were bloodstains in my old case, but for a different reason. I was pulling my Slot 1 PIII out of a dead mobo and it suddenly slipped and cut my thumb.

I still have a scar from that. :D

I must have tough skin then. When first installing my 120mm, I had to test it out, using electrical tape to tail the fan :D. Black fan plus black case = hurt finger. I looked down, from a distance I thought I saw the blades standing still, so I stick my finger down there, upside down, aimed for the center of the fan, I missed. Pulled it out, only a little bruised, no cuts or blood whatsoever.

Not the first time I've done this before. Being a tall person, 6'4 here, in a room with a ceiling fan is deadly. I usually forget where my ceiling fan is and when putting a shirt on, I occasionally get my arm whacked by those thick plastic blades. Once again just a bruise.

Nah, I was a cheapo, didn't feel like searching for the soldering iron I haven't used in years and also making the trip to Rat Shack to pick up some heat shrink.

So what I did was, pull the fan off an old 486 heatsink, clip the 2 wires, strip the wires a little bit. Wrapped the wires, red to red and black to black, and wrapped it a few times in electrical tape. Then tested the fan out on an old AT power supply. It worked then and is still working.

Yes I too took the fan guard off my delta, but was lucky enough not to get cut when I accidently touched it, needless to say I may put the guard back on now:p
