Is there a way to tell if a camera/mouse/webcam ... whatever, is USB 2.0? I just got a 4-port hub and would like to put all my 2.0 items on it but I don't have all the literature from them to know what they are.

Yes USB 1.1 and 2.0 are intercompatible. I'm not sure how to tell which is which however, although USB2 is only of real noticable benefit to devices requiring a lot of bandwidth like external drives.

Check manufacturers website perhaps?

If I plug my usb 2.0 thumbdrive or usb 2.0 enclosure in a regular usb port, Windows XP Pro will tell me that I should plug it into another usb port in order to get the fastest speed. It doesn't say anything when I plug the thumbdrive into a usb 2.0 port. I don't know what it says about webcams, cameras, etc though.
