V2.0 when?

I am bit of a newbie to the F@H but what new features will v2.0 have???

The features that I have seen mentioned so far have been caching, multithreaded, and benchmarking for machines of various speed. I also dl;d the beta but have not been able to get it to work right but it minimized to the tray.

How'd you get the beta? Did you sign up?

THis time you didn't have to sign up to get the beta. Oddly enough it was simply posted in a message to the Yahoo Folding 2.0 group. The beta was in a link in the message asking for more beta testers and I dl'd it. I think you have to sign up for the group before reading the messages. It really isn't a beta, it's more of an alpha and it seems to need a lot more work.

You mean the Folding-at-home group?

Sorry. Yeah. There is a separate page and group just for the beta test. The main page for 2.0 is http://folding.stanford.edu and there is a link there for the new message board. That website is half genome though. They have been concentrating almost all of their efforts on getting 2.0 out and trying to keep things stable in the meantime.

I found it and downloaded it. Hmmm, I think I'll wait for the official release to start playing with it. Must agree that it is very beta.
