How do i update bios using windows xp?

i am using the asus a7a and wanted to know how i can update the bios. it says i have to go to dos prompt, but windows xp has no dos prompt. it only has a virtual dos. anyone had experience with this?

make a dos boot disk(on another machine if neccessary) and boot off it.
