a few days ago, i went and made a stupid mistake in the world of PC hardware. i bought something before looking up on it.

what i bought was an ati radeon ve. now, i knew the radeon line had gotten good reviews....and that 32mb ddr memory looked nice, as did the dual display support. price was good, so i got it.

slapped it in, wasnt impressed by the 3d performance. so i look it up....and i find the ve is basically a very crippled radeon...doesnt even have t&l.

now, assuming i can return this without a hitch.....what should i get to replace it?

namely, im looking at the visiontech geforce 2 mx400....and the ati radeon SDR. both are the same price, both have 64mbs ram.....what would be the winner?

Neither.

The 32mb DDR will whoop em both.

Or if your wanting to save some cash get the LE and overclock it and do the reg hack so you'll have a regular 32mb DDR.

The Reg hack is extrememly easy, especially if you wana use a program.

Radeon Tweaker is a good one, tweakfiles is gone, so go onto Pinkys server I think he has it.

well...the thing is, i really need tv out. the 32mb DDR doesnt have that(at least not to my knowledge). im using readon tweaker now with this card....it helps, but i still want something better.

if the LE had a tv out id go for it....but im leaning towards the geforce 2 MX400 right now. thats gotta be better than the radeon ve right? at least it has t&l, plus 2 rendering pipelines.....twice as much ram as this ve has too.
