Well I was reading in a magazine called "The Week" I like this magazine a lot and there was a side note saying having a laptop on your lap raises the temperature of you "special" parts to a point that could cause long term sperm count loss here is the excerp:
"Men who want to become fathers may want to keep their laptops off their laps. Researchers at the state university of New York, Stony Brook, found that the posture required to balance a laptop-legs pressed together- combined with the heat generated by the computer, warms up the scrotum by around 5 degrees F. In the past studies, elevated temps in the scrotum and testicles were found to decrease sperm count. After cradling a laptop for 15 minutes, the scrotal temps of subjects increased by more than 2 degrees, the point at which testicular function might start to be impaired. New laptops with higher power requirements may produce even more heat, creating an even greater threat to sperm. As a precaution, teenage boys and young men should limit the time they hold portable computers on their laps, researcher Yefim Sheynkin tells Human Production. "Long term use may have a detrimental effect on their reproductive heatl."
Shourley there are many variables to this like if you sitting in an well cooled room or sitting outside in 100 degree weather(I hope not with your lapy) They never mention at exactly what temp scrotal function is impared but I mean what if you are getting it very hot due to other activities or you are walking down the road in Las Vegas in Summer. Must be a pretty high temp to start causing probs...but thought it was a interesting tid bit and worth posting so here it is lol. ;)
