View Full Version : anyone playing Max Payne on 2k?

I'm getting constant errors and having to reboot the game.

A few have said turn down display or bad vid drivers, but I'm updated and don't have the prob in any other game.

Just bought this last night and really ****ed I can't play more than 10 mins and have to save often.

i beat max payne in win2k about a month ago, never had any problems running it in 2k.

hmm.....933 with 512 megs.......2 40 gig drives in RAID 0.......G2 GTS and LIVE........not a bad sys.....but certainly shouldn't be having these problems.

I know MP is very sensitive to overclocking of any sort. Are you using the patch as well?

I run it on Win 2k server with my iwill machine and and runs great. never had any errors other than when I tried 2x fsaa. shouldn't have sold you V5 ;)

I had similar problams with it in 98 until I just ran it from the cd instead of from the hardrive.

I've got the game running really smooth with everything on the
video options up all the way.
No probs here.

I had a b*tch of a time on 2k, then got the patch. :) Works fine now. (v1.01, i think)

Yeah, that's the one, but I'm having webserver issues at the moment. Hopefully I don't have to reinstall, that will take too long...

**edit, nevermind... damn virus got me nervous though... just had to delete the email files it creates :)**

**edit, spent 2 hours configuring zonealarnm to prevent such an intrusion (through IIS). Hope it works. Fear not, no infected files, just a big mess for me to delete all the email files.**

**edit, new readme.eml virus is what probably struck. Zonealarm has been doing the job, now it's on both my PCs.**

only thing I havn't tried is running it from disk........

running it on win2k without patch and it's all fine


one thing, this game is over sensitive, i mean like i can play other games with the card o/ced to specs below but max payne would give me artifacts and the game hangs

when i set the o/c down to 230/430 it's all fine

runing MP fine in win2kpro. did you patch the game?
