lmao I don't think it's possible with the Doom 3 engine in the way it is in the HL2 mod. Only the graphics will be better :p

What do you mean there's nothing to pick up. How about all those invunerable chairs, paper cups, and yellow cones? :p
Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil expansion is gonna have a gravity gun. It's in the PCZone top games of 2005 section.

The point is, there is so little in Doom 3 to actually interact with. The expansion pack is obiously a Half-Life 2 rip off. Maybe by seeing how a real game is made, iD might pick up a few ideas. Anjow, if F.E.A.R. was not on that PCZone top games list, disregard that entire list as it is highly inaccurate.
Cant valve somehow legally protect the gravgun from being used in all future FPS games?

No. They can't.
Hmz. then why can microsoft have patent on windows code? and all the other software companies?
'A tool used by the player to manipulate the gravitational forces on non-fixed in-game items'
Should be possible then, lol.

You can patent the actual code used, but putting a patent on an idea is not (as far as I know) a possibility.
All anyone would have to do to get around a grav gun patent would be to just completely recode it.
Yeah F.E.A.R. is on there, but I've watched their movie and I didn't think the game looked too special. All the settings looked a bit generic.
