View Full Version : Pc3200 memory DDR400

I recently installed CPU-Z on my computer,and when i checked the memory section.It said under the max bandwidth part PC3200(200mhz)now i thought that pc3200 memory was s'pose to run at 400 mhz?Is there anyway of finding this out please.I am running 1 gig of branded PC3200 DDR400 memory and CPU-Z says for 512 sticks are at 200mhz :-/

ddr 400mhz is 200mhz, same thing. double data rate of 200mhz is 400mhz, this is completely normal. you'll find that around here this is how it is expressed as well. no worrys. :)

DDR is just that. Double Data Rate. The actual speed of your RAM is 1/2 the DDR speed. DDR400 ie PC3200's actual speed on the bus is 200mhz. Nothing to fear. Everything is just fine.

Example. I am running my A64 at 255x10 = 2.55ghz. 255 is DDR510 because 255 x 2 = 510mhz
