When Intel releases their 3.0 Dual Core processor does that mean it'll be running (2) 1.5 cores?

Does anyone know any info about the overclockability of them? I mean when you OC will you OC them together or can you OC each core? For example, you OC core 1 to 1.8 and core 2 to 1.8 which gets you a speed of 3.6...? Or am I completely wrong...

Dual cores, just like dual processors, are rated at the speed of each individual processor. Putting together two processors (at the core level or at the motherboard level) does not give you two times the performance.

Thus, a dual-core 3ghz part will in effect be two 3ghz processors paired together. If you were to overclock the system, the clockspeeds of the two will be directly linked.
