Anyone know a video card that can play WoW decently-fairly well, but is somewhat cheap. Say in the ballpark of ~80 bucks.

Thanks in advance!

As for a vcard sadly there are very VERY few options for any card that cheap. What are you running right now? Odds are you are probably running something better than what you could buy with $80.

If you are looking for a peformance card you would need over $200 for a 6600GT.

With that price you are looking at getting a used 9500 on ebay IF that :(

I currently have a GeForce4 MX 420 graphics card with 64MB of DDR SDRAM, which frankly isnt all that great. I'm considering getting a Chaintech FX550 with 256 DDR. It's prolly not that much better, but I can get it for 75$ and it wouldn't play WoW that bad, could it?

Thanks

THats as good as I can do. Its alot faster than most FXs and is within your price range. A 9600 is considerably faster than a 5500FX. THats for damn sure

The FX5500 is a terrible card, usualy having 64bit ram. You mx might actualy be faster. If you can, go for a Radeon 9100 for ~$40 or the 9600 in the post above. The 9600 isnt a whole lot faster, but its newer tech and has DX9 support.

R U actually playing WOW on the MX420 and not liking the performance? I've been playing WOW just fine on a dell 700m notebook, the processor is a fast 1.8 mobile P4, BUT, the graphics are the dismal intel built in stuff.

BUT, its doing WOW fine.

What are your other system componets? What CPU are U using with your gforce 4 MX?

i played WOW on an mx440 64m and it did just fine at 1158x860ish (cant remember res right now) and never got below about ~17 fps... but then i upgraded to a 6800nu and wham i get ~50-80 fps full everything and same res...
