Hit I am building my first PC and wanted some oppinions and suggestions, this is the system im planning on getting, i plan to game on it and do some overclocking.

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
OCZ Platinum Rev. 2 PC3200 (2x512 Duel)
Either: LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D or K8N Neo4 Platinum
GeCube ATI Radeon X800XT Plat
AOC 9KLR 19" CRT Monitor
Thermaltake Tsunami Case w/ 400W PSU
Thermalright XP-120

Um ya i think thats everything...thanx for any advice :)

go with the lanparty mobo.good system.could definitaly go with a better psu preferably 450w+ minimum for overclocking.also the athlon 64 3800+ is much better since it overclocks to the coveted 4000+ speed and can outperform the fx-51, which is priced higher.

im not going to say any thing untill i understand a bit more of what you want.
are you looking for somthing thats flashy with lights and windows all that stuff?
whats better black or white? (black costs a bit more)
are you looking for a silent pc (as in not noisy but not no fans)
are u in the US?
how much can u spend? and dont say somthing u think u might spen say somthing were it is a strickt i cant spend more than but right now i have...

hope to hear from you so i can hook you up

Ok thanx, i will just buy the case with no PSU and but a 500W one seperate, i heard the OCZ ones were good??? Hmm the 3800+ are nice and thats incredible if they can OC to those speeds! Although there is quite a substantial price jump isnt there? It might sound like i have no ends to my budget but that system is pretty much boardering it, i am only really willing to spend more for serious performance improvements :)
Thanx for the advice!

sorry syberspy i posted at the same time as you. No i dont want it too flashy no windows or LEDs or anything (aside from the ones that come with the case, in the door). Im not too worried about noise but i dont want it to be REALLY disteracting, i will be getting black as IMO its much nicer for not much of a price hike, no i dont live in the US unfortunatly :p i can spend about NZ$3200...gimme a seconf i will go try and convert it to US...ok back, it converts to US$2280.16...bear in mind that things are a bit more expensive here...i think...
thanx for any help :)

PS. NZ = New Zealand
PSS. I was also looking at the Lite On DVD-RW Duel Layer Writer and 2xSeagate 120GB 7200rpm HD in RAID 0 for storage :)
Thanx

520w ocz powerstream is best for your needs.i dont know about the prices over there in the us but shop around.if you can find a good cpu for a reasonable price the performance improvement is definitely worth it.

edit:eek:h your in nz.im in australia.anyway as i said shop around its definitely worth it.

edit:what was that all about? some mod messing with me? oni and jigpu, youd better not be messing with my brain :p .

edit:you to ridenow and donny paycheck :D .

LITE-ON 52x32x52 CDRW+16X COMBO
and Liteon Double Layer 8X DVD Writer SOHW-832S

that comes to $2824 thats with no tax and were missing a floppy.
but a floppy u can get for about 5$ at a local store just get ause one there just as good as a new one.

i also dont see any CPU coolers... but that can alwasy upgrade that.

ok well i would get that.
then after shipping and taxes and all that see what your left with.

Holy crap! thank you so much for that help! that system looked much nicer! Is a 3200+ enough? A 3500+ overdoing it? wow thats really awesome thank you so much for all that effort! Oh and langear prices include GST so some of that will already have GST on it! Well im off to bed now so if anyone else replys i would be much appreciative and i will get back to you tomorrow!
Thanx once again for ur awesome effort syberspy!

well i guess a 3200+ is ((enough)) but of course the 3500+ and the 3800+ performs and overclocks much better.heck if i just purchased what is enough i would have an ancient rig in my sig.

ramman what are u talking about?
i found my prices off hi local sites they will be more pricey and all but like 3 of those things have tax included as he stated (i dint know that untill he said it)

the 3200 is a much better deali wouldnt get eh 3500 its a jip the 3200 is a betterdeal then just see what your leftwith mabey u can water cool! then oclike a mofo

no i didnt say that i said it would oc good.
man the 3500 is a big price gap for him te prices jump up a fari amount after the 3200.
so if he buys the cooling (he will need cooling an way) sepns some cooling money uses the rig thenhe can go back and buy a 4000+ for the same price the the 3200 is now (over time the price will drop and might as well learn to oc with better cooling and a cheaper cpu.

Thought SO!
dont be so rude man.
