If you're talking about monitoring programs I use EMIII ( Electron Microscope III) Works really well, nice skins, and it updates for new cores very quickly.

Will it monitor multiple CPU's?

Who needs a PM when you have mystical powers like esp that lets you know when your name is mentioned in a thread???

Anyway, I use superkaramba in overclockix and have a handfull of themes for it which have a folding monitor built-in. It's not spectacular, but it does the job.

Get themes here- http://overclockix.octeams.om/karamba.tgz

Superkaramba may not work very well outside of KDE. Also the way the these are configured, the folding directory should be in /home/you/fold. Or feel free to edit away at the themes themselves. Some can pull up data from lm-sensors about temps and voltages, others show disk/network/memory useage. So have fun. They are not too hard to edit, and you'll find plenty more at www.kde-look.org. If you need to monitor multiple cpu's some examples are written into the configs and you just need to uncomment them and maybe correct paths....

PS- some will suck up some cpu time... but the simple folding monitor by itself is light on resources.

I think there's a KDE fold applet that runs in the taskbar. But no others that I know of. You can use scripts to display the info in a terminal anytime you like-

more /path/to/your/client/FAHlog.txt | tail -5

There was one in the past called kdfold, but it is no longer supported and no longer works unless ytou have an old distro and an old folding client version.

2 questions, is there anyway to keep that command going and update whenever a new line is added and secondly is there anyay to integrate said terminal into my background so it doesnt take up space of my panel??

I mean you could run it in one of your virtual termianls and just make the script loop forever and have some sleep time in the intervals between each run.... Then you just check it by Alt TAB F# switching to whatever term its running in.

What DE/WM do you use? You may be able to implement it into gkrellem or maybe gdesklets....

I run openbox and so far the only monitoring program I ever got working is torsmo, gdesklets wont run and gkrellem wont show up

i like fahmon better than emii.. it's simle, fast, and not confused when i delete one of my fah folder. (emii would give me an elephant sound when something wrong in my multi fah folder).. so i think fahmon is a very smart tool for fah.

I used EM III, but it used a bit of my ram - more than I wanted...
I might try that Fahmon. As just now I'm during making sig updater for people who don't like perl, I might include some monitor in it. If I don't fail, this thing will be able to support as many FAH installas as you have as long as they have one parent folder, owner and team, with full autoconfig (except for forums username and password, or even without it if I mange to make cookies work).

Does anyone feel a need to have server-client type monitor that could show you stats from other comps on which you have FAH? If so, and there's no other program like that and I find time, I could try to make it. It would have to be Windows-only using .Net framework. Eventually if there was a serious need, I might try to make it in Java.

I still like EMIII best and I shut off that elephant trumpet by unchecking the appropriate box in EMIII.

Arkaine, I love your desktop. iis that Overclockix or Yoper you have running on it?

Arkaine23

Its Overclockix, and I just fooled the superkaramba theme into reporting it as Yoper for the sake of the screenshot.

well, but it can't detect inactive client. when i suddenly stop one of my clients (i running 2 clients), emiii would still run and counting that wu progress, stuck at 100% completing a frame. if only that problem is solved...

Mine does that too but it also changes to a dull orange and a mouse over brings up a text message about a time frame problem. So it does show me there is a problem and that works good enough for me for now. I would like to see it monitor more than just a max of 13 clients and be resizeable.
