i am running win2k pro and how can i find out what my ip address is , im guessing it does not have winipcfg cause it can find it when i type it in the run window.

Open a Command Prompt Window and type ipconfig

su root

TCP/IP properties

Another thing you can do with any OS is go to a site (like www.dslreports.com/ip ) that tells you your public IP. I use this method as it works from behind NAT :)

ipconfig is the equavilent to winipcfg in all nt based os's going to the tcp/ip properties will only show you your ip if it is statically assigned
