Just got a new ATI X800XT-PE and I have 3dMark 2003 stoping on the sound test. Is there some issue with ATI and 3DMARK?
I have tried the latest catalyst drivers 5.xx and the 4.12 with no luck. Also, reinstalled soundcard drivers and 3DMark03 and still won't run the sound tests on 5.xx or 4.12. Popped in and old ti4200 from NVIDIA and all runs fine... Is this normal for ATI? or do I have some issue?
Thanks for any input.

It sounds more like a buggy driver on your sound card. Are there any driver updates for your sound card?

I reinstalled the reference driver from the CD that came with my sound card. I had some issues the last time I tried to update from the Audigy Site. I will have to give it a shot.
Yeah Audigy drivers suck ass.
Try the update from there site, download manually.
Also you did wipe all traces of the old nvidia drivers? Driver Cleaner 3?

I tried the Auto update from the audigy site and still get "FMOD error in FSOUND_SetPaused: Not enough memory" I used one of the Nvidia reg cleaners, - can't remember which right now. I did a little more research and found that others with Audigy cards have had this issue in 3dmark 03, but the issue is limited to 3DMark03.

Did you ever get this issue resolved? I'm still seeing it in 3Dmark 2003 with Creative SB Live! 5.1 and an ATi Radeon 9800 Pro. (And there was no such error with the same computer combined with a Ti4200.) Thanks -- Paul
