How do i overclock my 1.33 ghz amd. as you can see below i hve an MSI KT266 PRO-R. In the bios there are a few settings i can change but i have no idea which ones. i would like to put it to about 1.4. My HSF is supposed to be fine up to 1.7 so i think i will be fine. under i load i run like 40C - 42C. idle 37 C. help please.
Unlocking the cpu's L1 bridge :) check this article it explains how to really clear :

After you unlocked it then let the overclock begin! I should say that the best way to get the performance out of an overclocked cup is buy keeping the multiplers to the minimun you can and the FBS to the max you can ;) So you can start by maybe setting up your multipliers to 10X or 10.5X and then start raising the FBS, keep in mind that when you get to a point your pc doesnt boot up or it buts up but it freezes in windows you may have to start raising the cpu voltage as well, just go little by little.
Also if you get to V1.85 your cpu will be getting pretty hot so make sure to keep an eye on your cpu's temp!
Good luck and dont forget to keep it KOOL!

thanks dude, do they make any windows programs that are compatible with windows 2k, since that is what i have
You mean for the system temp?
if so...
go to www.via.com.tw and d/l via system monitor it works on all windows :)
If not add me to your ICQ and i'll send it to you

well i have a system temp thing, that comes with the mobo,
i want a windows program for overclocking.....
ya, your 1333MHz TBird should already be unlocked, try raising your multiplier setting to 10.5 in BIOS under Hardware Monitor Setup and change the setting called "CPU Ratio" to 10.5, and turn Spread Spectrum OFF, then save the settings and exit, if its unlocked then your CPU speed would have gone up to about 1400MHz (assuming u have 266 fsb tbird) if the MHz did not go up then your CPU might be locked. looks like i have same CPU and MoBo as you...:)
oh ya, and u can just overclock your CPU from BIOS, no need for a windows program. But if u really want one u can try Fuzzy Logic 3, which comes with the MSI K7T266 Pro-R mobo on the drivers CD, u can use it to overclock the FSB and monitor the temps and voltages of your system, but i've never been able to get it to work under win2k. Im sure there are other programs out there too though.
Also - shouldn't this thread should be under AMD CPUs instead of cooling??

yea i have tried to get fuzzylogic to work because i know how to use that, but it is not win2k supported.....its not that big of a deal....my brother who is much more knowledgable with computers tells me that i should get a new hsf before i overclock it at all, this weekend i am putting in 2 92mm fans. plus i should be able to order my geforce 3 next week. at some point i will prolly put a few more fans in, but i dont have those yet but oh well. i am thinking the sk6, or i will buy a bare swiftech heatsink and get a baddass 80mm fan. but thats future. lata
