i ran a 3dmark03 test today for the first time in a couple weeks. previously, i was scoring around 8800 when oc'ed. this time when i ran the test, i scored 7040 with the same oc settings! how the heck did i manage to drop 1800 points??

Get the porn spyware off your HDD. =P

j/k, but seriously, scan for spyware and check to see if your hdd is fairly fragmented. I've dropped hundreds of points because of fragmentation alone.

i defragmented right before i tested my system

edit: ok, after unplugging and replugging all my power connectors, :eh?: , i tried again and was able to get 7896. much better than my other score, but im still almost 1000 shy of what i had before...any ideas?

edit2: reinstalled my chipset drivers and did a few small tweaks and got my scores back to normal

Bro it could be anything. Corrupted OS, Spyware, your AGP aperature size, your drivers. I personlly wouldnt worry about it. Also remember that heat and pushing your card too far will also ruin your score and deflate its actual vaules.

My guess woulda been a power issue if it was dropping like that besides the typical spyware crap.
