I went in and added -bigpackets to the registry key, do you think that screwed it up?
I dont know what its deal it, I didnt try to cancle to process or anything, and it keeps giving me that when I restart too. Both log files show the same error.
Help! I wanna come back!

to enable bigpackets you edit the config file. i don't believe any registry edit is necessary....try to unedit that registry and see what happens (and remember to only edit the .cfg file with notepad) its either that or your talking about flags, but flags should be added to the shortcut or executable, (I'm no expert but i'll try to get the ball rolling, faster the better)

well the registry edit should automatically do the samething as a config.txt edit, the other -flags (-advmethods, -forceasm, etc.) are there on the same registry entry.
thats the way i remember it working anyway.

The "Flags" explained
You'll notice that in the above registry export file under the second key (\FAH\Parameters) there is a little line called "AppParamters", herein lies the much talked about option flags for running FAH.
Here is your guide to the flags:
-local: Used with multiple cpu rigs (dually, HT, quad cpus etc) to set up FAH as one client per one cpu. If this flag isn't used on a dually and two instances are running, your rig will show up as running at 50% in task manager as both instances will split the processing power of one cpu leaving the other to sit at idle.
-service: Sets FAH as a service. Very important flag that will tell your rig to use srvany.exe to run FAH4Console.exe as a service instead of running the client in the console window. Thereby keeping your rig folding even when no one is logged on.
-forceSSE: Forces SSE use for AMD's. P4's do not need this flag, but it doesn't hurt so it's including in most automated FAH installs like the One-Click.
-forceasm: Forces the use of 3DNow and SSE. In some instances, if a power failure occured, your computer locks up (not due to FAH), or your kid brother kicks over your tower, FAH will restart in a form of "safe mode" that doesn't use 3DNow/SSE. This will cause your machine to fold much slower so this flag forces the higher setting on no matter how the client was turned off previously.
-advmethods: The gromacs flag. This flag tells FAH to only seek out Gromacs (a type of protein) from the Stanford servers. Gromacs used to be the end-all-be-all of point production. However, recent changes to the point value for Tinkers have made this flag counter-productive on AMD rigs.
-verbosity 9: Gives you the uber update in your log files. More info will be written in case your having issues or are just interested in what FAH is doing.
so i believe the answer lies in the fact that there isnt a flag for bigpackets and it can indeed only be changed at the cfg file
The current "bigpacket" protiens are late stage beta projects that can only be obtained by having both bigpackets=yes set in client .cfg and the -advmethods flag set in the registry or on the shortcut target line. Setting the the -advmethods flag now indicates that you are willing to receive late stage beta projects which may be either Tinker, Amber, or Gromacs. The ultimate install guide is out of date in the regard.

Big packets is an option in client.cfg and you also need to use -advmethods. But there's no -bigpackets flag.

Hey Disco_Stu, welome back. :D
Yeah, kill the -bigpackets flag, it's only in the client.cfg.

ok...go! wait a tic...
I dont think Im up for racing anyone just yet.
I moved into a house with a bunch of broke college loser guys who didnt like the 3 rigs running up the electric bill, plus I kind of dropped out of the OC scene while there were no new products/games coming out for FOREVER...that and I was broke.
But now Im back living by myself...so Ill run the electric bill up if I want to. Right now Ive only got ~5ghz, and half that is ooooold borgs from the days when I lived in the dorm, somehow those are still going, running FAH3 and like the original version of OneClick, lol.
Ill get some powah eventually though, muhahaha

Just get 10 cheap referb AMD mATX boards with some XP Tbreds and you'll pump out over 1000PPD. I've clawed my way up to #60 using a Xeon dually, P4c, Barton 3200 & an XP1700 Tbred B. I'd be in the top 50 by now except a steady stream of borgers keep stepping over me as fast as I can step over the less active folders above me.
I have a low paying full time job and I'm a half to three quarter time college student too. I feel like a circus clown juggling several objects including chainsaws LOL.

Yeah LOL, when you get a load of power borgers steaming past you, it feel like you're trying to sprint up an avalance. :D
Well, I'm not really a power borger.... I've just got some good guys folding with me. They're in my sig :)
You've got about a week before we get to you anyway....... so you have approximately 6-7 days to get your powah up and running :D
Ya some of the new borgers on this team are very impressive.
I made it into the top 20 just running my own rigs then I wanted to make a run for the top 10 and started borging. Now It looks like my time in the top10 is slowly ticking away. I have a few projects coming up that i might be able to get a few borgs out of but if i don't I've stayed in the top10 for about a year. Its more than I ever expected when i started.
I'd say the members and the knowledge that I've ganed form this board is what keeps me around.
