I have a ECS K7S5A with an Sis735 chipset and an Athy 1,4 2 Huge Case Fans + a very good CPU cooler. Sys temp is 25 degrees stressed and cpu temp 47-48. 512 DDR RAM Since i don't know MUCH about o/c'ing, can someone tell me how much i can get out of this bloody fast system?

Maybe 1.5GHz if your lucky, but that's not a promise. 1.4GHz chips vary a lot. I've seen some that won't barely overclock, and a few that will come close to 1.6GHz . . . .

What overclocking features does your board have???

How about making a sig with your system specs? It'll help us give you the proper info.

Hi, I'm also a newbie to this forum, and I'm in a similar situation. I built my system a month ago, it consists of the follows:

Athlon 1.4 266fsb (not sure which model chip)
asus a7m266
512 kingston ddr pc2100
ibm 40.1 gb 70gxp deskstar
winfast geforce 2 gts 32 ddr
maxi sound fortissimo sound card
inwin case
plextor 16/10/40 a
panasonic 16x dvd
2 case fans
cheap cooler master heatsink

I was wondering what mods you would recommend, I want a new heatsink first of all, but I don't know where to get the good ones, specifically the Noise Control Silverado, which got good reviews from tomshardware, or the Blizzard Thunderbird, a more rare cooler, but I would assume much cheaper than the Silverado. The case fans I have are rather noisy, so I wouldn't want a loud heatsink too, I'm thinking about changing to panaflow case fans, but it's 30 bucks for so little. Any other recommendations? card cooler? HD cooler? one of those air ducts straight to the cpu? I'm not sure what really works, and I'm not sure what I can overclock my cpu to. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Sorry bro, the ECS K7S5A is not going to overclock your 1.4 GHz athlon at all. It has no multiplier settings and no FSB settings aside from 100 and 133.
